Freedom begins with intention

With the most recent summer holiday behind us, I’m reminded of how important it is to seize the day. Our working lives are important, but not at the expense of really living — spending time with our loved ones, taking the trip we always meant to, making time for that hobby you know would bring a lot of satisfaction, etc etc.

It’s a delicate balance to hold the reality that tomorrow is never guaranteed, but also you could live to a record-breaking number. Keeping space in your life for what makes the logistics run is important, but so is making time for the parts of life that make you look back with fond memories and stories to tell.

Our country just celebrated 250 years. A lot was built in that amount of time, and it’s important to remember that the work culture was developed with a pace to “catch up” with other countries. Remember, balance is key. If you haven’t made a new memory in a while, maybe it’s time. And if you’re not sure you can afford it, maybe it’s time for us to talk.
